Intresting Week 11 in the NFL

With all the recent injuries to the New York Giants receivers lately, Mario Manningham should be a hot pickup off the waiver wire this week. If Mario Manningham is available on your waiver wire, I would definitely recommend picking him up if you have room on your fantasy bench, and a definite possible start in week 12. With Kevin Boss not figuring into much of Eli Manning's plans this year, Manningham should get his share of fantasy points this week. Manningham could possibly have 100 yards receiving and maybe a touchdown or two. Look for Steve Smith to probably be back in week 13 for the Giants, which would give Eli Manning another reliable target to throw to as well.

Reggie Bush was back at practice prior to week 11, but was held out of the game by coach Sean Payton. As long as Chris Ivory keeps running the ball as effectively as he has, Bush's touches could be limited. Bush does however return punts and kicks and could figure more into the passing game out of the backfield though. My suggestion is if you have him, monitor his status and see if he will be playing or not. If he does play, he could run into a bit of problem with the recent upstart Cowboys , who have won 2 straight under their new interim head coach.

Vincent Jackson is eyeing a return in week 12 for the Chargers. This will obviously cut into Patrick Crayton's production, but will give Phillip Rivers another target as well. Since this is the first actual playing week for Vincent Jackson, I would recommend holding out on starting him and see how he performs. Vincent Jackson should be a solid contributor by week 14, and should be able to help fantasy owners out for their run at a fantasy football championship.

What Blog wouldn't be complete without an update on the worst NFL franchise in history, the Detroit Lions. I can say this with confidence , as they have never made it to the Super Bowl, and have 1 playoff win in the last 53 years. Heck, even the Cleveland Browns have more playoff wins than that..As I thought the Lions were moving in the right direction with some of the moves and draft picks they had this year, they are still finding ways to shoot themselves in the foot, and lose games by a combination of stupid penalties and poor defense. If it weren't for the Buffalo Bills this season, the Lions look poised to have another top draft pick this year. The Lions have still done nothing this season to address the poor blocking on their offensive line this year. The poor blocking has contributed to QB Matthew Stafford being hurt twice this year already. The only player that seems to have any kind of consistent fantasy value this year would be WR Calvin Johnson. Calvin Johnson though is going to run into a tough team in New England on Thanksgiving Day. I would recommend another solid receiver that would have a better matchup for your team, if possible.

For any Peyton Hillis owners out there I would say he is a must start from now on. Unless he is injured, he should remain a must start in all formats. Hillis has been tearing it up this year against the like of the Ravens Defense, in which he put up 24 fantasy points, and then a few weeks ago, ran all over the Patriots rushing defense, en route to 32 fantasy points. Hillis has been consistently averaging around 10 points or more every week he has played this season. This kind of consistency , even against tougher defenses should make him a must start.

That is all for now.....

Thanks,

Chris
